1. Who we are and the scope of this notice
Kamailio Support is a trading name of JMB Technology Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15525231) with its registered office at 20 Wenlock Road, London, England, N1 7GU. In this notice, "Kamailio Support", "we", "our" and "us" mean that company, trading as Kamailio Support.
We are the controller for personal data collected through kamailio-support.com and for our own enquiry, sales, support and account administration.
When we work on a client's platform, for example reviewing configuration, SIP traces, call records or logs, the client usually decides why and how that data is used and we act on its instructions as its processor. The client's agreement with us, and its own privacy notice, govern that processing. We'll sign your NDA before you share anything sensitive.
2. Personal data we may handle
Depending on how you deal with us, this can include:
- Enquiry data: your name, email address, company, phone number, subject and message, and whether you marked the enquiry as a production emergency.
- Blog comment data: the name and comment you submit. Approved comments are published with your name.
- Communications: emails and phone calls with us, and the details in them.
- Client engagement data: configuration, logs, SIP traces, call detail records and similar material a client provides for us to work on, which can contain personal data such as phone numbers.
- Technical data: IP address, browser details and timestamps in short-lived server logs, and security processing by our content delivery provider.
Please don't put passwords, private keys or other sensitive information in a website form. If you need to send us configuration or traces, ask and we'll arrange a suitable way to do it.
3. How and why we use personal data
We use personal data to:
- reply to enquiries, give advice and prepare quotes;
- carry out engagements, provide support and keep records of the work;
- moderate and publish blog comments;
- protect this website and our services from spam, abuse, fraud and attacks;
- meet legal, accounting and tax obligations; and
- send marketing only where the law allows, with a way to opt out every time.
Our legal bases are taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract, complying with a legal obligation, our legitimate interests in running and protecting our business (including replying to enquiries and running a moderated comment section), and consent where the law requires it.
4. Service providers and recipients
We use a small number of providers to run this website and our business:
| Provider | What for |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Delivers this website and protects it from attacks. Every request passes through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and browser details. |
| Amazon Web Services | Hosts the website server, in Stockholm, Sweden. |
| Slack | Website enquiries and blog comment notifications are delivered to our private Slack workspace, not a public channel, so an engineer can respond. |
| Google Workspace | Our email. |
The live workforce page shows anonymous status data about automated agents. Our server collects it from an external telemetry service; your browser only talks to this website, and nothing about you is sent to that service.
This website doesn't use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Links to other websites take you to services with their own privacy notices.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer with appropriate safeguards. We don't sell personal data.
5. Security and international transfers
We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encrypted connections, restricted server access, protected configuration for secrets, spam and abuse controls on every form, and storing only a one-way hash of your IP address for rate limits. No internet service can promise absolute security. To report a vulnerability, see our security.txt.
Some providers process data outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data protection law requires it, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or another approved transfer mechanism.
6. How long we keep data
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Enquiries and correspondence | As long as reasonably needed to respond, manage the relationship and keep an appropriate business record. |
| Client engagement data | As set out in the client's agreement; otherwise returned or deleted when the engagement ends, unless the law requires us to keep it. |
| Approved blog comments | While the post is published, or until you ask us to remove the comment. |
| Comments waiting for review | Until they're reviewed. Rejected comments are deleted. |
| Rate-limit records (hashed IP address) | 24 hours. |
| Server logs | 14 days. |
| Accounting records | As long as tax and company law require. |
7. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you have the right to ask for access to your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where we rely on consent. To have a blog comment removed, just email us.
If your request is about data a client controls, we may pass it to that client or help it respond. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
