LiveKit voice AI platforms
Your own AI voice agent stack on LiveKit: self-hosted or cloud, wired into your SIP trunks, PBX and business systems, and backed by real telecoms engineering.
24/7 emergency support for production platforms.
Hosted voice-agent platforms are quick to try and hard to own: per-minute fees on top of your model costs, call audio on someone else's infrastructure, and little control over latency or how calls reach the agent. LiveKit lets you run the whole stack yourself (media server, SIP gateway and agents) on infrastructure you control.
The hard part of voice AI isn't the model. It's the telephony: SIP trunks, codecs, NAT, DTMF, transfers, caller ID and call quality under load. That's what we've done since 1999. Where it helps, we put Kamailio in front of LiveKit SIP so routing, security and failover are handled by a proper SIP edge.
We choose the speech-to-text, LLM and text-to-speech providers, or self-hosted models, that fit your latency, cost and data-residency needs, then connect the agent to your CRM, booking and ticketing systems.
LiveKit voice AI: what's in the toolbox
LiveKit deployment
LiveKit server, SIP and Agents deployed self-hosted or on LiveKit Cloud, sized for your concurrency, monitored and kept up to date.
SIP & telephony
Inbound and outbound calls over your existing SIP trunks or PBX, with a Kamailio edge for routing, security and failover.
Agent pipelines
Speech-to-text, LLM and text-to-speech chosen for latency, cost and language: hosted APIs or self-hosted models.
Transfers & hand-off
Transfers to people, queues and existing call flows when the agent should step aside.
Integrations
Agents that read and write your CRM, calendar, ticketing and back-office systems.
Your data, your rules
Call audio and transcripts on infrastructure you control, with the logging and retention you decide.
Typical engagements
- Moving from a hosted voice-agent service to your own LiveKit stack.
- An AI receptionist on your existing SIP trunks that books, answers and hands off to your team.
- Kamailio in front of LiveKit SIP for routing, load balancing and fraud protection.
- Self-hosted speech and language models for data-residency or cost reasons.
- 24/7 support for a LiveKit platform already in production.
LiveKit voice AI support: common questions
Why LiveKit instead of a hosted voice-agent service?
You own the stack. LiveKit is open source, so there's no platform fee per minute on top of your model costs, call audio stays on infrastructure you control, and latency and call handling are yours to tune.
Can it use our existing numbers and SIP trunks?
Yes. LiveKit SIP connects to standard SIP trunks and PBXs, and we can put Kamailio in front for routing and security.
Self-hosted or LiveKit Cloud?
Either. We recommend one based on your call volumes, data requirements and who will run it day to day.
Do you support it after go-live?
Yes: 24/7 support, on hourly rates or a support contract.
